Manchester City have confirmed the signing of Antoine Semenyo from AFC Bournemouth on a five-and-a-half-year deal that runs until 2031.
The 26-year-old Ghana international arrives at the Etihad Stadium after establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s most dangerous attackers, making 110 appearances for Bournemouth since joining from Bristol City in January 2023.
Born in London to Ghanaian parents, Semenyo began his professional career at Bristol City, with loan spells at Bath City, Newport County and Sunderland helping to shape his development before his Premier League breakthrough.
Speaking after completing the move, Semenyo said: “I am so proud to have joined Manchester City. I have watched City over the last decade under Pep Guardiola, and they have been the dominant team in the Premier League as well as achieving amazing things in the Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup.”
He added: “They have set the highest of standards. It’s a club with world-class players, world-class facilities and one of the greatest managers ever in Pep. To be at this club at this stage of my career is perfect for me. It’s a real privilege to be here.”
The forward believes his best years are still ahead, saying: “My best football is yet to come, I am sure of that. City are still involved in four competitions and I really feel I can help them have a strong second half of the season. The Etihad is my new home and I can’t wait to play in front of the fans.”
City’s Director of Football Hugo Viana praised the club’s latest addition, stating: “Antoine is a really exciting signing. He made it clear immediately that City was the club he wanted to join.”
Viana added: “He has huge quality — two great feet, pace, power, and a habit of influencing games. He has real room for growth and development. Antoine was the player we most wanted. He is humble, hard-working, professional and totally focused on improving. He is ideal for us.”
