Girona Secure Marc-André ter Stegen on Loan from Barcelona

Girona FC have reached an agreement with FC Barcelona for the loan of goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen until 30 June 2026.

The German international ends an illustrious 11-and-a-half-year spell at Barça, having joined the club in May 2014 from Borussia Mönchengladbach at the age of 22. Ter Stegen enjoyed immediate success in his debut season, winning the historic treble under coach Luis Enrique.

During his time at the Camp Nou, ter Stegen won a total of 20 trophies, including six La Liga titles, six Copas del Rey, one UEFA Champions League, five Spanish Super Cups, one UEFA Super Cup and one FIFA Club World Cup.

He made 423 appearances for Barcelona, ranking second among goalkeepers in the club’s history, behind only Víctor Valdés, who recorded 534 matches.
