Real Madrid have confirmed the retirement of Fabien Causeur from professional basketball, paying tribute to the French guard’s legacy at the club.
In an official statement, the club said:
“Following Fabien Causeur’s announcement of his retirement as a professional basketball player, Real Madrid C. F. wishes to express its gratitude, affection and admiration for one of our legends.”
Causeur spent seven seasons at Real Madrid, making 486 appearances and winning 14 trophies, including two European Cups, four league titles, two Copa del Rey trophies and six Spanish Super Cups.
The club also highlighted his place in history, stating:
“Causeur is third in the history of our team in terms of the number of appearances made by foreigners.”
Real Madrid concluded by wishing him well, adding:
“Real Madrid wishes him and his family all the best in this new stage of his life.”
