Arsenal Women have secured the future of head coach Renée Slegers, who has agreed a new long-term contract keeping her at the club until 2029.
The Dutch coach has enjoyed a remarkable rise since joining Arsenal’s coaching staff in 2023 and taking the helm permanently in early 2025. In her first season in charge, she led the team to UEFA Women’s Champions League glory, while also guiding them to a second-place finish in the Barclays Women’s Super League — the club’s best league result in three years.
Under Slegers, Arsenal have maintained an unbeaten home record in the WSL and produced standout performances in Europe, overcoming Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Lyon before defeating Barcelona in the Champions League final in Lisbon.
Slegers’ leadership and tactical acumen have been praised by club officials, who view the contract extension as a signal of their commitment to continued domestic and European success. The club now looks ahead to building on this momentum in the seasons to come.
